at Fatkin

Fatkin is seeking an experienced healthcare architect to join its team in London.

Fatkin is an 18-strong practice specialising in infrastructure and healthcare, with additional work in housing, mixed-use and commercial typologies for both public and private sector clients. The practice was established in 2014 and we have a diverse team with staff in London, Bristol and Cardiff.

As healthcare architect/senior healthcare architect, you will be responsible for delivering healthcare projects in the practice, working directly with clients and consultants as well as supporting junior staff to successfully run and deliver projects. Our current healthcare projects range from refurbishments and conversions through to new build facilities. We also work on a number of science projects, such as laboratories. Experience in this sector would be a bonus.

Depending on your level of experience, the role presents an opportunity to join the Fatkin senior leadership team and to help the practice grow and flourish over the next few years with input into practice strategy, business development and design proposals, alongside the development of your own career. We will support you to attend and participate in sector-specific conferences and events.

Responsibilities:

  • promote high quality healthcare design on every project
  • encourage and support the team to work collaboratively and effectively
  • maintain positive client relationships, including seeking out new opportunities and managing expectations
  • provide technical and design support to junior staff, particularly around technical compliance and derogation

Requirements:

  • minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience in practice
  • evidence of running healthcare projects for public and/or private sector clients and managing small teams of junior staff across all RIBA stages
  • experience of dealing with NHS Trusts is an advantage
  • outstanding knowledge of HTM/HBNs and healthcare design
  • recent experience of working in Revit
  • excellent written and graphic presentation skills
  • right to work in the UK and familiarity with UK planning system/building regulations/law

Fatkin is an equal opportunities employer and we are proud of our diverse team. We welcome applications from people from under-represented groups in architecture. We expect this role to be majority-office based with remote working as agreed. We offer flexible hours and will consider part-time applications (minimum three days/24 hours per week).
