Senior interior designer

Superfutures is hiring a senior interior designer to join its team in London.

We are Superfutures an award-winning, multidisciplinary design and branding studio. We specialise in creating multi-sensory designs for hotels and resorts, restaurants, bars and workspaces worldwide. We have designed for an extensive range of clients across various industry sectors throughout UK, US, Canada, UAE, Hong Kong and Europe. We believe that design has a major role in shaping the community and future culture.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • lead and manage a project team across all stages of design detailed concept, detailed design package, site and construction
  • work closely with the interior designers providing general support, effective design management processes and implementation initiatives
  • act as a mentor and help manage the career development of the younger design team
  • create design project schedules and timelines
  • ensure the integrity of the agreed design solutions and bespoke detailing in technical documentation
  • FF&E selection and specification; establishing concept proposals within budgets
  • liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers
  • sourcing materials and compiling mood and concept boards
  • speaking/ meeting with various suppliers, manufacturers and tradespeople to understand their product, costs, obtaining samples, swatches etc
  • work with the directors to create unique concept designs
  • manage team workflow and efficiency
  • site visits and assisting with installations
  • help maintain a happy and positive working environment
  • support the design director with the promotion of the company assisting with social media content
  • active member of new business development directives
  • supervise tracking of project files, drawing issues, correspondence etc
  • understanding and implementation of office manuals, typical studio templates, project folder structures etc
  • responsible for maintaining positive attitude within the studio whilst maintaining office protocols

Skills and experience:

  • degree in interior design, architecture or similar
  • seven-plus year’s experience, ideally in the hospitality industry
  • proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and SketchUp (V-Ray or Nscape would be ideal)
  • client facing and on-site experience
  • passion for design, architecture, art and innovation
  • excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent technical drawings knowledge being able to control the assigned team documentation
  • knowledge of hospitality, F&B operational requirements and typical equipment
  • strong knowledge of MEP services and equipment requirements
  • ability to mark up technical packages and coordinate multidisciplinary consultants
  • ability to communicate at all levels in a variety of settings including corporate and construction environments
  • technically minded with a positive can-do attitude
  • highly organised, adaptable and flexible with the ability to use your own initiative
  • ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be committed to completing tasks and following through
  • a team player able to work with a variety of ‘characters’ and personalities
  • high quality graphic and representation
  • ability to perform practical work in relation to design, such as models and prototypes
