Superfutures is hiring an architectural technologist to be part of its team in London.

We are Superfutures an award-winning, multidisciplinary design and branding studio. We specialise in creating multi-sensory designs for hotels and resorts, restaurants and bars worldwide. We have designed for an extensive range of clients across various industry sectors throughout UK, US, Canada, UAE, Hong Kong and Europe. We believe that design has a major role in shaping the community and future culture.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • ability to produce quick, high-quality work
  • advanced technical drawing skills with attention to interior details
  • excellent understanding of fabrication, materials and assembly processes
  • can provide creative solutions whilst ensuring technical requirements are met
  • proficient knowledge of AutoCAD with experience in producing high quality technical drawings and CAD files
  • able to work on large drawing packages for commercial fit out projects, including but not limited to: plans and sections, including equipment and services coordination; high end bespoke joinery including typical hospitality details such as bars, waiter stations or fixed seating; typical high end fit out details such as floor to ceiling details, door packages, typical stairs etc
  • supervise the team documentation
  • work closely with the senior designers providing general support and recommend technical solutions
  • act as a mentor with junior designers
  • learn and understand the team skills and assist senior designers with organisation of project schedule and timeline
  • ensure the integrity of the agreed design solutions and bespoke detailing in technical documentation
  • understanding of project budgets in order to provide optimal technical solutions
  • supervise project files records, drawing issues, etc
  • loose furniture manufacturing experience would be appreciated
  • hand sketching skills would be appreciated
  • an active interest in design, with experience and knowledge in a variety of different design practices would be appreciated
  • understanding and implementation of office manuals, typical studio templates, project folder structures etc

Skills and experience:

  • degree in interior design, architecture or similar
  • seven-plus years experience, ideally in the hospitality industry
  • proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • passion for interior design and architecture
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of hospitality operations requirements and typical equipment
  • knowledge of hospitality typical services and associated equipment
  • ability to mark up technical packages
  • technically minded with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • highly organised, adaptable and flexible with the ability to use your own initiative
  • ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be committed to completing tasks and following through
  • a team player able to work with a variety of “characters”

What we offer:

  • salary up to £55,000
  • a collaborative environment that encourages progression and development
  • 20 days annual leave
  • 23 days annual leave from third year
  • 25 days annual leave from fifth year

  • ability to work on bank holidays and incorporate this time into granted annual leave
