Assistant management accountant
at Lee Broom
Lee Broom is looking for an assistant management accountant to join its team in London.
Lee Broom is one of the UK’s leading product designers. Based in Shoreditch, we design and make our luxury lighting, furniture and home accessory products from our own factory in East London and distribute through over 200 partners in 50 countries and directly to global architects and designers.
Based in our showroom and studio in Shoreditch working with our finance director and accounting assistant, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent core accounting skills and experience wanting to take the next step to deliver a wide and interesting range of services that support the running of the business for an award-winning product design and manufacturing business. We use Xero and we can provide support for accountancy exams.
Key responsibilities:
- manage daily bank reconciliations for a number of separate UK and international companies in US and EU using Xero working with currencies incl. GBP, EUR, USD
- administer and manage VAT / Sales Tax returns for UK / EU / US territories
- work with sales team to match payments to sales proformas, manage account customers and track sales agents’ performance using our Filemaker-based business management system
- manage purchase and payment processing
- manage monthly payrolls via external provider
- produce monthly, annual and two-year rolling cashflow forecasts
- produce monthly and annual sales reports and analysis
track and monitor purchase orders, stock levels and work with operations team to identify and place new orders
Essential skills and experience:
- highly proficient user of Xero
- intermediate or advanced Excel
- well-organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail and great admin skills
- excellent IT skills, high level of numeracy, literacy and able to work in UK
- multi-company experience ideally with multiple currencies/territories
As the ideal candidate you will:
- understand stock control and purchasing across products and components
- understand pricing and discounting for retail, trade and wholesale customers
- have understanding of the design industry and/or manufacturing industry
- enjoy exceeding targets, hitting deadlines and solving problems
be flexible, adaptable, proactive, intuitive and have a dynamic approach to your work - be someone who enjoys a challenge and does whatever it takes to get the job done
