Astro Lighting is hiring a junior designer to join its team in Essex, UK.
Astro has been a leading designer and producer of contemporary lighting for over 25 years and is seeking a junior designer to join its team in Harlow, Essex.
This exciting opportunity will report to the head of design and work with a talented team of product specialists and engineers to devise timeless design solutions that are accessible, sustainable, and elevate what came before them.
What you will do:
- visualise and execute product concepts under the guidance of the head of design
- collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand design requirements
- research lighting design and industry trends to inform your designs
- develop visualisations for discussion with the senior design team
What qualities and skills you need:
- evidence of considered design and development processes (a design portfolio is preferred)
- confident sketching ability and visualisation skills (KeyShot is preferred) and proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks is preferred)
- enthusiastic and able to take instruction as part of a team, yet when required work independently
- confident in presenting ideas to senior stakeholders
- a good understanding of CMF within the lighting industry
- confident in managing multiple projects to an agreed deadline
