Product and design assistant
at Amode
Amode is seeking a product and design assistant to become part of its team in London.
Amode is a modern high-end furniture company, based in the Hammersmith/Chiswick area of west London. We work with the top interior designers in the UK to help them create beautiful bespoke furniture for their luxury projects, and we design our own collection of contemporary furniture.
An exciting new role has become available for a product and design assistant. You will have a passion for modern furniture design and materials, and will have strong administration skills and software skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, MS excel and 3D modelling software (such as Solidworks or SketchUp).
You will work closely with the production manager and creative director to provide administrative and technical support in order to manage our existing product SKUs, assist with the production of bespoke furniture designs for our interior designer clients and be a main contributor working on the launch of new Amode product and material collections.
Responsibilities include:
- assisting with the launch of new collections
- creating and updating products on the Amode website
- creating and updating product SKUs and pricing on our ERP system
- calculating pricing for new products within set margins
- liaising with manufacturers and suppliers in Europe
- working with sales team and production to get same-day quotes for bespoke furniture designs
- assist sales team on product/technical queries, and give periodical product training to team
- creating product price lists using excel and spec sheets/instruction manuals using InDesign and any other product documentation
- creating technical/line drawings of all products for use in product spec sheets, using Adobe Illustrator
- assisting with creating technical/3D drawings for production
- assisting with the design/planning for showroom renovations or trade fair exhibitions using SketchUp
- managing Amode materials samples library
- assisting with the creation of Amode in-house fabric or materials samples
- any other additional product/samples management duties and administrative tasks
Skills/experience:
- degree in either; graphic design, product design, architecture/interior design, furniture design or similar
- intermediate skills in; Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Excel and Solidworks/SketchUp (or similar 3D/CAD software)
- strong administration skills
- knowledge and understanding of furniture production/construction
- confident communicator
- able to effectively manage multiple priorities at the same time
- excellent time management and organisational skills
- excellent numeric/mathematics skills
- high levels of attention to detail
Position: full-time, permanent, 9.00am – 5.30pm, Mon-Fri
