Studio and operations manager

Dzek is hiring a studio and operations manager to join its team in London.
Dzek creates original architectural products under slow design principles in collaboration with designers such as Formafantasma and Max Lamb. We are globally recognised by architects and designers for taking a critical approach to resources, local cultures and design systems that yield unique material outcomes. This approach attracts a range of clients who not only use our products but also seek our guidance in developing bespoke, project specific materials guided by the same rigorous criteria.
Our London based practice is recruiting a full-time studio and operations manager. The ideal candidate will have previous administrative and project management experience, demonstrate a proactive attitude and have a natural interest in design and architecture. The candidate should be hands-on, flexible and reliable with the ability to multi-task and prioritise a varied workload. Strong time management, organisational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
This role is also involved in all phases of product development through to market release. We have several new products in the 2022/23 pipeline with launches scheduled in October and April so there will be a significant and varied work load to manage.
Responsibilities include:
- general administration – filing, basic bookkeeping, quotations, invoicing, manage internal systems and their relevant evolutions
- sales and logistics support – initial point of contact for enquiries with follow through from order to production, shipment and delivery
- liaise with vendors to manage production, logistics and fulfilment
- coordinate sample packs and maintain stock levels
- provide exemplary, flexible customer service
- basic troubleshooting of technical problems, liaise with technology vendors and external tech support as needed
- digitally file and archive accurate records
- liaise with bookkeeper
- respond, log and archive press requests. Includes management of product loans and magazine feature requests
- CRM management, organise mail outs for events and invitations
- website maintenance, general updates
- reception duties – answer incoming calls and studio diary
- develop a fluency in the Dzek design philosophy and product lines in order to serve successfully as a brand ambassador
Essential skills:
- general office/project management experience
- excellent spoken and written English
- polite, articulate, reassuring manner
- ability to work independently and reliably, with strong multi-tasking, organisational, communication and customer-relation skills
- detail-oriented
- proficiency in Mac OS, GSuite, Xero
- previous experience working in a similar role
- valid UK work permit
