Duck & Shed is hiring a senior designer to join its team in London, UK.
Duck & Shed is a leading high-end architecture and design studio specialising in crafting residences of distinction in London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. With a “laid-back luxe” aesthetic and a reputation for excellence, we offer comprehensive design and project management services, ensuring every project is a masterpiece.
We’re looking for a Senior Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for an experienced architect or designer with a strong track record at a top London firm. It offers the opportunity to lead exceptional projects while developing into a future Design Director.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and collaborate on the design and delivery of luxury residential projects from concept to completion.
- Oversee and guide the design team to maintain Duck & Shed’s high standards of creativity and quality.
- Work closely with the founder to translate the studio’s vision into exceptional designs.
- Develop project workflows, schedules, and processes to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors, representing the studio at meetings and site visits.
- Contribute hands-on to design work, from sketching ideas to detailed design documentation and review other team members work.
What we’re looking for:
- a qualified architect or designer with over six years of professional experience, including at least three years at a top London firm specialising in high-end residential design
- a strong portfolio showcasing creativity, technical skill, and luxury project experience
- exceptional design sensibility with a keen eye for detail.
- proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools
- leadership potential with excellent communication and organizational skills
- a proactive, team-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering world-class designs
