We are based in London, but also have a studio in Gloucestershire should that suit the successful applicant.
The role
RPA has recently won planning permission for a number of Paragraph 84 houses. We are currently looking for an experienced senior architect to join our creative and dynamic team and lead these exciting projects.
You will primarily work on high-end new-build homes in rural settings, delivering designs that reflect the highest standards in architecture required of a Para 84 house. We are looking for someone with a strong creative vision and genuine passion for design.
The ideal candidate should have:
- five plus years post-Part 3 qualification
- ability to lead multiple projects/project teams with efficiency
- a specialism interest in crafted buildings and innovative design
- excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- experience on projects from concept design through to final build and fit out
- willingness to engage in all parts of the design and documentation process
- superior communication and organisational skills
- excellent technical knowledge of building standards and construction detailing including experience of UK building regulations and CDM
- excellent time management, organisation, planning and attention to detail
- proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is required. SketchUp, Rhino and visualisation skills area an advantage
You will:
- develop and manage the conceptual and detailed design of our projects
- produce drawings and visualisations to capture and communicate the design intent
- participate in regular design workshops with clients
- undertake the production of information for tender purposes and play an active role in negotiations with contractors
- work alongside suppliers, fabricators and manufacturers to procure specialist items
- work closely with other consultants to coordinate pre-construction information
- undertake regular site visits during construction
