Hildrey Studio is looking for a project architect to join its team in London.

We are an award-winning practice dedicated to delivering impactful and innovative design solutions across housing, cultural, social impact, and commercial sectors. Our work goes beyond aesthetics – we create spaces and systems that address real-world challenges, integrating research and design to push the boundaries of what architecture can achieve.

We are seeking a talented and motivated project architect to join us on a contract basis. The office is based in Clerkenwell and candidates must be London-based to attend in-person site visits as required – but this position is expected to be mostly remote.

Responsibilities will include:

  • preparing technical drawings and specifications for construction
  • integrating sustainable design principles into projects
  • managing project delivery, including information packages and coordination with contractors and consultants
  • supporting the studio’s research initiatives, bringing curiosity and fresh ideas to enhance design and innovation
  • building strong relationships with clients, consultants and project teams

What we are seeking:

  • applicants should have excellent design sensibility, technical detailing ability, and project delivery experience working through all RIBA Stages
  • relevant experience in working within existing buildings and a flair for designing interiors is preferred
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • London-based and ARB registered

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • a minimum of two years’ post-qualification professional experience
  • experience in design and delivery working within existing buildings and listed building design
  • a flair for interiors and materiality
  • excellent design skills and an understanding of technical and construction detailing
  • experience working with multi-disciplinary design teams through all RIBA Stages
  • excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD LT
  • a thorough understanding of current UK Building Regulations

Salary and details:

  • this is a part-time contract position, expected to consist of two to three days per week compensated on a day rate basis
  • candidates are expected to provide their own Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) and software licences
  • start date March 2025
