Brooks Murray Architects is looking for an architect to join its practice in London.

Our mission is simple – to turn aspiration into reality by delivering smart solutions for better living, and delivering exemplary service to our clients.

To support our mission, we’re looking for a full time, mature minded, energetic and proactive technical architect or technician with at least five years of experience on large scale residential projects.

We need you to:

  • join our small technical design team for residential conversion and regeneration projects
  • develop and manage detailed drawing packages from Stage 4 through Stage 5 working with colleagues
  • collaborate with consultants, contractors, and specialist subcontractors to resolve design and site challenges
  • oversee the integration of new-build and refurbishment elements, ensuring seamless coordination
  • manage design detailing, material selection, and construction sequencing
  • coordinate and oversee on-site technical delivery and contractor engagement working with colleagues
  • maintain excellent communication with the wider project team to ensure smooth project execution

Candidates should:

  • demonstrate design and technical aptitude, with developing design and technical confidence
  • have some  experience across all RIBA Stages (3 to 7), with knowledge of project delivery from concept to completion
  • have a solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and standards, including National Described Space Standards
  • ideally have working knowledge of the Permitted Development Regulations
  • be self-driven and motivated
  • have a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and the ability to handle multiple roles and responsibilities within a small, busy office
  • have strong 2D and 3D drawing skills
  • be proficient in AutoCAD and a working knowledge of Revit (or similar software)
  • be well organised with good time management
  • at least five years’ of post-Part 2 experience, with a strong portfolio in commercial and residential work
  • have an excellent level of spoken and written English (IELTS 7-8, TOEFL iBT 94-109, TOEIC 901+ or CAMBRIDGE CPE)
