Based in New York, Oxman is the eponymous studio of bio-architect, scientist, engineer and inventor Neri Oxman. The American-Israeli designer works at the intersection of art, architecture, design, biology and technology to explore new materialities.
Oxman also founded and heads the Mediated Matter Group at MIT Media Lab, which conducts research exploring computational design, digital fabrication, materials science and synthetic biology.
Pictured above is the Aguahoja structure, which demonstrates how organic, biodegradable materials can be combined to create architectural-scale objects. The project was awarded the Dezeen Awards 2019 design project of the year.
