Büro Ole Scheeren is looking for a technical director to join its growing teams in Hong Kong and Beijing.
Büro Ole Scheeren is an international firm that practices architecture, urbanism, interior design, and research.
Our work ranges from city-defining structures and innovative urban prototypes to carefully crafted cultural buildings, with projects across Asia, Europe and North America.
We have recently completed the Guardian Art Center in Beijing, DUO in Singapore, and MahaNakhon in Bangkok; our current developments include 1500 West Georgia in downtown Vancouver, an innovative adaptive re-use in Frankfurt, a high-rise complex in Ho Chi Minh City, and a landmark super high-rise in southern China.
For our growing Hong Kong/Beijing team, we are looking to appoint a technical director as an expert who will be in charge of introducing and developing innovative technical design solutions across projects during all design and construction stages.
As our office’s specialist for architectural detailing, building materials, and technical drawing documentation, you will share a passion for translating ambitious architectural design concepts with rigour into comprehensively detailed information fit for construction true to design intent.
As a part of our office leadership team, you will take on a key role in maintaining and advancing the technical quality standards of our company. You will impart your solid technical and practical experience, combined with a strong sensitivity to our design approach, to individual project teams, and coach and mentor them.
You have an extensive track record of at least 15 years post-qualification in-depth involvement in design-led complex medium to large-scale mixed-use projects, with an emphasis on design development, construction documentation and construction administration stages of architecture, facade, and interior design packages.
You have sound knowledge of construction methods, products and building materials, and are interested in technical advancement and innovation.
You enjoy working proactively as an integral part of our teams, and are able to share and communicate your knowledge and experience precisely and comprehensibly.
You excel in a dynamic work environment and have exemplary time management skills.
You are literate in AutoCAD, ideally also in Revit. English fluency is a key requirement, with business level Mandarin or Cantonese skills a plus.
