New York, USA
Design development manager
at Fisher & Paykel
Fisher & Paykel is seeking a design development manager to join its team in Los Angeles or New York, USA.
Fisher & Paykel’s goal is to become the world’s most human centered #1 luxury premium appliance brand. Our New Zealand origins, curious nature, and passion to develop luxury products designed around people are core elements that make us unique. Driven by our brand values of being real, generous, curious, and sustainably minded, we take a collaborative approach, foster a culture where ideas are heard, and are united in our goal.
We are hiring a design development manager in Los Angeles and in NYC.
This is a unique position focused on identifying, engaging and influencing the very best architects and designers in the US market. These are the thought leaders and visionaries shaping design excellence, and their partnership is essential to our goals and growth.
As a Design Development Manager, you will play a strategic and highly influential role, building authentic, long-term relationships with the most respected voices in LA’s or NYC’s design community. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will collaborate on projects, offering insights and guidance to help specify the best kitchen plus fabric care design outcomes. This is a design-led role, engaging in thoughtful, creative conversations rather than sales-driven discussions – positioning Fisher & Paykel as a true partner in design innovation.
You’ll collaborate with our external partners as well as our internal design engagement teams, to engage the architecture and design community through initiatives that are central to our design engagement strategy. By contributing to meaningful, design-centric dialogue, you’ll help shape and strengthen our relationships with industry leaders.
This is where you come in
You’ll be responsible for identifying and engaging with the most influential figures in the design community – those whose work shapes the future of architecture and interior design. By building strong, strategic partnerships, you will become a key voice in the conversation around design excellence and innovation.
As the face of Fisher & Paykel to potential partners, you’ll articulate and embody our design philosophy and values, offering both creative inspiration and technical expertise. Your contributions to project specifications and appliance selection will enhance our brand’s credibility and reinforce the unparalleled design freedom and beauty of choice we offer. Your empathy, strategic thinking, and exceptional commitment to service will ensure you provide commercially beneficial solutions at every step of the process.
So who are you?
You are deeply passionate about design and well-connected within LA or NYC’s architectural and interior design communities. You have a proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and influence design outcomes – through a design-led approach. Whether within a design firm, architectural practice, or working alongside luxury architectural products, you’ve engaged with stakeholders who needed to be influenced and clients who needed to be inspired and convinced.
You may have either an architectural or interior design background, or have worked with a luxury architectural product, bringing a deep understanding of design principles and a refined appreciation for quality and craftsmanship. Whether you’ve worked directly in design or with luxury brands, your ability to influence, engage, and build strong professional relationships will set you apart.
You’re a team player and a natural communicator, with exceptional interpersonal skills and the confidence to present in face-to-face settings with small to medium-sized audiences. You combine commercial acumen with an eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
You take action quickly and are not afraid to respectfully challenge ideas when needed. As an industry expert, you have the credibility and experience to attract, engage, and inspire clients. We value your enthusiasm, drive, and genuine thirst for success, as well as your understanding of how brand-building and collaborative partnerships drive commercial success in the luxury property sector.
