Heim is hiring a design lead to join its team in London.

Heim is looking for a design-led architect or designer to help shape the next chapter of our UK Build to Rent portfolio.

This is a client-side role for someone with a strong background in architecture, interior architecture or design who wants to work on homes with real long-term impact.

Heim brings a Scandinavian design heritage and strong European experience to the UK rental housing market, with a focus on creating thoughtful, lasting and resident-focused places to live.

Working closely with our Design and Development teams, as well as Operations, Marketing and Mobilisation, you will help shape and protect design quality across our UK portfolio. The role will involve guiding external consultants, translating design principles into clear project requirements and helping ensure design intent is carried through from early-stage design to delivery.

What we are looking for:

• a background in architecture, interior architecture, design management or a related design discipline
• strong design judgement and visual literacy
• experience working on residential, mixed-use or similarly complex projects
• confidence working client-side and coordinating external consultants and internal stakeholders
• the ability to protect design quality while balancing cost, programme and delivery
• an understanding of how design decisions affect resident experience, operations and long-term asset value
• the ability to translate broad design principles into clear briefs, standards and project requirements
• a collaborative but confident approach, with the ability to challenge proposals and give clear design direction
• experience working across design development, technical coordination and delivery stages
