Role overview:
We are looking for an exhibition designer / architect with strong technical, drawing production, and visualisation skills to support the development of a large-scale museum project.
Candidates should have experience in exhibition design, excellent spatial sensibility, attention to detail, solid technical and exhibition knowledge, and the ability to translate curatorial concepts into clear architectural proposals.
Fluency in German is preferred.
Within the role, you will:
- develop exhibition layouts, spatial concepts, and interior/setwork/furniture design, ensuring coherent circulation and spatial organisation
- produce architectural, exhibition, and technical drawings, including coordination drawings linking architecture, scenography, objects, and technical systems
- create diagrams, mood boards, narrative presentations, 3D models, and visualisations for design development, reviews, and client presentations
- support concept development with clear spatial proposals and technical solutions
- coordinate with lighting, multimedia, structural, and fabrication teams to ensure integrated design solutions
- develop object layouts in line with curatorial and exhibition requirements.
- knowledge of German HOAS is a plus
What we’re looking for:
- five plus years in architecture, exhibition design, or scenography
- strong proficiency in German is preferred
- experience in museum projects
- drawing, production and 3D visualisations are essential
- excellent graphic skills and sensitivity
- strong spatial sensibility and ability to design exhibition layouts and setwork
- excellent command of technical drawing and detail development
- ability to translate conceptual ideas into clear, buildable design solutions
- good understanding of exhibition design constraints (visitor flow, accessibility, museography requirements)
- strong cross-disciplinary collaboration and project coordination abilities
- proficiency with Rhino, SketchUp or equivalent 3D tools
- ability to produce high-quality 3D visualisations (Enscape, Twinmotion, V-Ray, etc.)
- knowledge of museum standards (lighting, conservation, accessibility) is a plus
- rigorous, organised, and comfortable working within structured workflows
