Architectural designer
RUFproject is looking for an architectural designer to join its growing studio in Vancouver.
We have an immediate opening for a building designer/architectural graduate with experience in institutional, residential scale projects. This position is a full-time permanent position working on the development of projects with responsibility for design drawing and document production, as well as liaising with consultants and other team members. Preference will be given to the right candidate who can demonstrate international experience and a wide portfolio including residential, hospitality, educational and institutional projects and have experience in concept design as well as in detailing. Previous experience in liaising with consultants and supervision during the construction phase would be an advantage. Besides work experience, any evidence of commitment in professional improvement, such as attending courses or participating in architectural competitions will be highly considered.
Main duties:
- assist in the development of building design and concepts
- analyse building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports
- conceptualise and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, and construction schedules Prepare or supervise the preparation of CAD drawings, specifications and other construction documents for use by contractors and tradespersons
- construct architectural and display models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs
- monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications
Employment requirements:
- a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture
- four years supervised work experience in design or architecture
- proficiency in Autocad, Revit, 3dsmax and Adobe CS, demonstrated in your portfolio of student and professional work is necessary. Proven ability to work well under pressure and to meet close deadline
