at Slow Studio
Slow Studio is hiring three associate interior designer/interior designers to join its team in Shanghai, China.
Slow Studio (slowstudio.cn) is a boutique multi-disciplinary architecture firm founded by Vincent GU (AA DIP) in 2013 in Shanghai. Our service ranging from visual merchandising, styling, interior design, FF&E, architecture, to construction management. We are recently awarded the “ELLE DECO CHINA Interior Design Awards 2021” under retail category. Our various projects were published on GQ, AD, ELLE DECO, IDEAT, Wallpaper*, Frame Magazine, Design Wire, designboom and Louis Vuitton Luxury Travel Guide.
We are currently seeking three passionate, hands-on, and creative interior designers with three to five plus years’ experience to join our friendly and collaborative team. We are a growing studio of eight designers at the moment, and these new roles will require someone who are independent executors as well as team players who can seamlessly integrate into our existing team structure.
Key competence
The ideal candidate will have excellent creative thinking skills and be able to create designs based on clients’ brief requirements and set budget from concept to completion.
The candidate should be confident communicating regularly with the internal team as well as outside suppliers/engineers in order to assess their needs and be able to adjust a given approach based on their feedback.
The candidate should maintain familiarity with architecture/interior design and trends in order to provide the best ideas and solutions.
Responsibilities:
- create beautiful and functional designs, layouts and construction drawings independently for assigned projects from concept to completion
- be presentable and attentive with client in order to understand the client’s objectives and desires
- communicate effectively with vendors and team in order to address client’s needs and achieve a cohesive design direction with our studio portfolio
- prepare presentations (concept narrative, mood board, 3D models, 2D drawings, construction drawing set, scaled or 1:1 mock-ups, renderings, materials board and FF&E list) for clients
- create quotes for clients and ensure full workflow is followed
- maintain industry knowledge in order to stay relevant
Qualifications
- minimum bachelor’s degree two years’ of experience in related field
- proficient in AutoCAD, rendering (at least one of 3D Max, Enscape, V-Ray), Modeling (at least one of SketchUp, Rhino), Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft (Word, Excel, PPT)
- tender and construction drawings, on site experience
- strong creative and communication skills
- legible working in China. Best if can attend interview in person
- proficient with using Chinese language in drawings/annotations
- communication in Chinese/English
