Senior architect (fixed-term maternity cover)

Claridge Architects is hiring a senior architect for a fixed-term period of maternity cover to join its team in London.

We are looking for a confident and capable Senior or Project Architect to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, starting in September 2025.
This is a client-facing, hands-on role suited to someone with excellent design sensibility and proven delivery experience across all RIBA stages.
Key responsibilities:
- lead projects from concept to completion (RIBA Stages 0–7), including detailed and technical design
- produce and oversee planning applications, tender and construction packages in line with UK regulations
- liaise confidently with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes
- coordinate internal resources and manage junior team members
- cnsure timely and high-quality project delivery
- uphold QA throughout all project phases
Required skills and experience:
- ARB-registered Architect with five plus years post-Part 3 experience
- proven track record of running residential or mixed-use projects through all RIBA stages
- strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning processes
- excellent communication and team management skills
- Vectorworks proficiency is essential
- strong design and technical abilities, with attention to detail
- experience working across multiple RIBA stages
