at Richard Parr Associates
Richard Parr Associates is looking for a senior architect to join its team in Gloucestershire, UK.
Countryside studio (with flexibility to work from our London studio).
About us
At Richard Parr Associates (RPA), we create architecture defined by craft, character, and timeless elegance. Every commission is approached as a singular journey – free from preconceptions, rooted in place, and shaped entirely around the lives of those who inhabit it.
Guided by Richard and realised by a dedicated team of architect and designers, we deliver work that is both highly considered and deeply personal. Our role is to be trusted custodians of our clients’ vision, transforming the complexity of building into an experience that is as inspiring as the spaces themselves.
The role
We are looking for an accomplished senior architect to become part of our close-knit studio family.
This is more than just a role – it’s an invitation to collaborate with an exceptionally talented team and visionary clients on projects that truly matter. You’ll help shape architecture that is rooted in landscape, celebrates materiality and craftsmanship, and dares to push creative boundaries while honouring tradition.
About you
We’re looking for an architect who combines creativity with precision, artistry with rigour, and vision with leadership.
You should bring:
- five plus years’ post-Part 3 experience, with a proven track record of high-end residential work
- confidence in leading multiple projects and teams with clarity and efficiency
- a passion for crafted buildings and innovative design approaches
- outstanding communication skills, both with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- experience across all RIBA stages—from first sketch to final fit-out
- a hands-on, proactive attitude and willingness to engage in every part of the process
- robust technical knowledge, including UK building regulations, CDM, and detailing
- exceptional time management and attention to detail
- software fluency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office; skills in SketchUp, Rhino, and visualisation tools are highly advantageous
You will:
- shape and drive both conceptual and detailed design for extraordinary projects
- produce compelling drawings and visualisations that capture design intent
- lead inspiring client workshops and design reviews
- coordinate technical information and contractor negotiations
- collaborate with artisans, suppliers, and fabricators to deliver bespoke elements
- work closely with consultants to ensure seamless project delivery
- champion quality on-site through regular visits during construction
What we offer:
- a competitive salary with annual reviews
- performance-related bonus scheme
- clear, structured career progression pathways
- generous training and development opportunities
- 22 days annual leave, increasing with length of service
- a collaborative studio culture with regular team lunches and events
- the chance to contribute to some of the most exciting architectural project in the world
