Senior interior designer

Squire and Partners is seeking a senior interior designer to join its team in London.
A senior designer at Squire & Partners is primarily responsible for delivering on their project commitments under the guidance of their project leader. You should be capable of leading key elements of a project and maintaining clear, open communications with your peers and project leader to ensure your projects are delivered to the highest standards. You will be pro-active in raising any questions and concerns you may have, and ensure you deliver on your project commitments within the allocated timelines.
Key requirements:
- minimum of 10 years experience
- develop and deliver strategic design in collaboration with your project leader
- the ability to professionally present ideas and concepts. Make confident and clear presentations to clients and other stakeholders
- contribute to management of the practice through participation in relevant working groups, design reviews, and forums
- the ability to prioritise work and manage multiple projects effectively
- prioritise issues at each stage: design/delivery/site
- allocate tasks to the team in conjunction with and under the guidance of your project leader
- manage the team to meet deadlines. Implement and evolve efficient working practices with support from senior team
- implement the office standards/protocols
- manage information exchange between the wider project / design team
- promote new technologies / sustainable designs
- manage risk on projects with the support from your project leader
- managing and applying any project change procedures
- the ability to relate your tasks to the wider project delivery
- take responsibility for specific elements of a project
- implement QMS and project quality processes
- provide technical direction when required and under the guidance of your project leader
- maintain design direction and evolve detailed design options
- good practice detailing – with the ability to detail clearly and accurately
- construction knowledge, including materials, MEP and Structure
- building contract knowledge
- apply knowledge of Regs and Guidance – Building Regs/London Plan/BCO
- maintain project housekeeping (minutes, filing, Revit warnings etc.)
- maintain the materials sample library, suppliers data base
- maintain an understanding of emerging legislation and regulations
- mentor/train the more junior members of your team
Skills:
- be passionate about and well-versed in the interior design sector and its cultural landscape
- have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- have strong organisational abilities and adept at managing multiple deadlines
- have the ability to motivate and influence others
- be capable of taking the initiative, and be ambitious, self-motivated and highly creative
- software – being proficient in Revit is essential. You must also be excellent with InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch up, Enscape, Word and Excel
