Cotswolds, UK
Experienced Part 2 architectural assistant or recently qualified architect
at Charlie Luxton Design

Charlie Luxton Design is hiring an experienced Part 2 architectural assistant or recently qualified architect to join its team in North Cotswolds, UK.

We are a rurally based, employee owned practice in the North Cotswolds offering an office/site based role. Due to the practicalities of commuting, applications from outside a realistic commuter range of Hook Norton, Oxfordshire will not be considered. Please confirm your location or willingness to relocate when applying.
About us
Based in the rural North Cotswolds countryside, we are an 11-person practice looking for a resourceful and independent individual to join our growing team.

We are looking for a Part 2 architectural assistant, recently qualified architect, or a mature and experienced Part 1. We are open to applications from technicians, technologists and talented individuals who may not have been through the traditional architectural training route, but with a passion for design and sustainability.

We are working on an exciting range of projects from Passive standard new-builds, sensitive listed refurbishments, housing developments, commercial and cultural projects. Every project we do is different with an underlying emphasis on social and environmental sustainability.

The role

You would work across a range of projects, spanning all work stages, from concept design, presentation graphics and models, to construction drawings and site visits. An interest in ‘building things’ and the practical side of architecture is crucial.

We are an Archicad based practice but can assist with a transition across from other CAD software. We also use Vectorworks, SketchUp, Photoshop and InDesign.

Fluency in the English language is vital and experience working in the UK is beneficial. You will have strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn, with great communication skills and the ability to work within a team.

Being rurally based, with projects spread across a wide area, applicants must have a driving licence and their own transport.

What we offer:

  • a supportive studio culture focused on design quality, sustainability, and teamwork
  • opportunities for ongoing training, CPD, and professional growth
  • discretionary hybrid working (a minimum of four days in the studio, and nine-day fortnight)
  • private healthcare
  • competitive salary based on experience, inline with RIBA guidelines for London and the Southeast
  • as an employee owned company, new team members become beneficiaries of the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) after one year with the practice
