LEOS International is hiring a design manager/technical design manager to join its team in Dubai, UAE.

Key responsibilities

Design and technical leadership:

• lead and manage the full design process across all project stages
• review design documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy, quality, and compliance
• provide technical problem-solving and maintain design intent throughout the project lifecycle
• ensure design outputs meet the standards of high-end developments

Stakeholder and team coordination:

• manage architects, engineers, and specialist consultants to ensure coordinated design delivery
• collaborate closely with development, commercial, project management, and construction teams
• organise and lead design coordination meetings and workshops
• review consultant deliverables and ensure alignment with project goals

Construction interface:

• support site teams with technical clarifications and address design-related construction issues
• review shop drawings, material submissions, and mock-ups for compliance with design intent
• monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to quality and technical standards

Regulatory and compliance:

• coordinate submissions to relevant Dubai authorities (DM, DDA, RTA, Civil Defence, etc.)
• ensure design packages comply with UAE building codes, fire regulations, and authority guidelines
• manage design-related risk assessments and mitigation

Programme and deliverables:

• develop, update, and monitor design programmes and deliverables
• track consultant progress and initiate actions to avoid delays
• provide regular reports on design risks, issues, and decisions

Quality assurance:

• conduct technical reviews at key design stages
• ensure accuracy, coordination, and completeness of all design documentation
• oversee BIM coordination processes when applicable

Qualifications and experience required:

• bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field
• minimum eight years’ of professional experience, with at least three to five years’ in a design management role
• strong background in large-scale residential, mixed-use, or hospitality design
• proven capability in multidisciplinary design coordination and technical delivery
• knowledge of UAE authority regulations and approval procedures

Preferred:

• Dubai or GCC project experience (highly prioritised)
• experience working with international consultants and developers
• BIM/Revit knowledge or experience in BIM-based coordination
• strong experience across tender, construction, and handover stages
