Juliana Custers Interiors  – Wimbledon, London

Juliana Custers Interiors is an interior architecture and interiors studio working on high-end residential projects across London and beyond. Our work is rooted in architecture, guided by materiality, proportion and craft, and shaped through close collaboration with our clients, consultants and makers.

We are seeking a senior, qualified architect or interior architect with a strong interest in interior architecture and interiors to join our studio in Wimbledon.

The role

This role forms an integral part of the studio and will involve working closely with the founder and creative director on the design and delivery of residential projects at varying scales.

The focus of the role is interior architecture: the development of spatial layouts, architectural detail and bespoke joinery, and the careful translation of design intent through technical resolution and construction.

You will be involved throughout the life of a project, contributing to both design development and delivery, and working collaboratively with contractors, consultants and specialist suppliers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • leading interior architecture elements across residential projects
  • preparing and coordinating technical, tender and construction drawing packages
  • designing and detailing bespoke joinery, bespoke furniture and architectural features
  • developing layouts and details that balance clarity, warmth and character
  • liaising with contractors, consultants and specialist subcontractors
  • coordinating closely and inputting design with FF&E and interiors to ensure continuity of design
  • supporting client presentations and technical discussions
  • contributing to a considered, collaborative studio culture

Experience and skills

We are looking for someone with:

  • full architectural qualification (Part 3) or an interior architect with experience
  • experience delivering high-end residential projects in the UK
  • a portfolio that demonstrates a clear engagement with interior architecture
  • confidence producing detailed technical and joinery documentation
  • a strong understanding of construction, materials and buildability
  • high proficiency in AutoCAD
  • experience with 3D software such as ArchiCAD and SketchUp, 3ds Max advantageous
  • clear written and verbal communication
  • a calm, organised and collaborative working approach with onsite experience

About you

This role may suit an architect who has naturally gravitated towards interiors – someone who enjoys working at a domestic scale, values detail and craftsmanship, and takes care in seeing ideas through from concept to completion.

You will be a quick learner and enjoy the rhythm of a small practice, where collaboration is close, and everyone contributes across different aspects of the work.

You will be comfortable taking responsibility for your work while contributing thoughtfully to a small, design-led studio.

Studio and working pattern:

  • studio-based role in Wimbledon, SW19
  • in-person working
  • flexible working hours where appropriate
  • right to work in the UK required
  • salary DOE – full time or part time position available

Please submit your CV, portfolio or examples of relevant work and your expected salary range.

We share the studio with two golden retrievers who are very much part of daily life,  so dog-friendly applicants will feel at home.
