Claridge Architects is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.
Claridge Architects Ltd is an award winning, design-led practice based in Marble Arch, London, in business for 20 years and with projects in various cities in the UK. We are known for our contemporary, contextual and sensitive designs predominantly in the residential and commercial sectors.
We are currently looking for a talented and enthusiastic Part 2 architectural assistant, to join our vibrant team, working on large scale residential, hotel and co-living projects country wide. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support various projects at different stages in a supportive environment. The practice is looking for someone to grow with the practice and establish themselves as a core member of the team. Applicants should combine demonstrable design and communication skills with good technical knowledge and experience of working in architectural teams through concept design, planning approval and technical design stages. The successful candidates will be confident, friendly and efficient. Enthusiastic about working as part of a dynamic and energetic team.
Responsibilities
Candidates should ideally have a minimum of one to two years’ work experience on multi-unit residential, co-living or hotel schemes with varied experience across several RIBA Stages.
Candidates should be able to work well within architectural teams and show the ability to:
- produce drawings and documentation with project teams across all RIBA Stages, including documentation for planning submissions and construction packages
- input in design reviews and workshops to better design quality throughout the office
- liaising with project architects and associates to directly with clients and producing effective presentations
- inputting and assisting with coordination with external consultants and dealing with queries effectively, driving project related matters to conclusion
- support and assist Part 1 architectural assistants with project teams
Skills required:
- an understanding of the UK Building Regulations and the UK Planning framework
- personal motivation and discipline to work independently as well as within a team environment; to be supportive of others
- excellent design skills to deliver high quality design, across a variety of scales and in complex urban settings
- an ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload in conversation with project architect.
- effective reporting and communication against timescales and deliverables to the director and senior management
- excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- excellent skills in Vectorworks 2D/3D are essential
- be presentable and confident with both client and contractor facing responsibilities
- excellent English, both written and verbal plus eligible to work in the UK
Optional skills:
- 3D modelling experience/rendering (SketchUp, Enscape)
- NBS specification writing

- salary varies based on experience, ranging from £32,000 to £36,000
