Senior furniture designer – project and collection

Laplace is seeking a senior furniture designer – project and collection to join its team in Paris.

Laplace is urgently looking for a motivated, talented and ambitious furniture designer with a minimum of five years’ of professional experience in a luxury or high-end environment to work in its Paris office on high-end interior residential projects.

Candidates will assist our project managers and senior architects in our high-end interior design projects and should be excellent team players.

Key responsibilities:

  • collaborate in the design and development of furniture tailored to diverse architectural projects
  • generate furniture designs in both 3D and 2D formats
  • showcase proactive initiative by introducing innovative concepts and solutions, leveraging your designer prowess
  • work in synergy with the architecture and FF&E departments to ensure coherence in aesthetics, functionality, and dimensions across project deliverables
  • uphold proposals that align with ergonomic principles and manufacturability feasibility
  • monitor production processes: validate shop drawings, prototypes, and material samples
  • collect and verify quotes
  • ensure quality control through photo or workshop visits
  • assist the architecture and FF&E teams
  • participate in project meetings, effectively communicating with the creative director to grasp project requirements and objectives
  • provide on-site installation support
  • maintain a keen awareness of the agency’s expectations and priorities
  • adhere to production schedules to ensure timely project delivery
  • assist the head of furniture design in developing the furniture line
  • ensure aesthetic and technical consistency across all designs is achieved

Software proficiency:

  • expertise in Rhinocéros software for both 3D and 2D design
  • experience with Enscape for rendering purposes
  • proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Suite
  • knowledge of project management tools and Pack Office
  • knowledge of SketchUp is advantageous
  • basic knowledge of AutoCAD is appreciated

Employment requirements:

  • EU passport
  • lives in Paris or able to relocate at short notice
  • fluent in English and French, Spanish would be a plus
  • ready to start ASAP
