Original Field of Architecture is seeking an exceptional ARB-registered architect to join our growing, award-winning Oxford studio.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role on some of Oxford’s most cherished Listed Buildings, alongside carefully crafted new-build projects for university, college and other clients. Our work sits at the intersection of heritage, contemporary design, and rigorous technical delivery.

The role

You will be entrusted with significant responsibility from an early stage, working closely with Directors to lead projects through key RIBA stages, from strategic briefing and planning through to detailed design and delivery on site. Projects range from sensitive conservation and adaptive reuse to high-quality new architecture typically within complex historic settings.

About you

We are looking for a confident, thoughtful architect who brings:

  • Part 3 qualification with ARB registration
  • five to ten plus years’ professional experience in UK practice
  • strong experience working on Listed Buildings and within conservation contexts, or strong desire to progress into this type of work
  • a sound understanding of the UK planning system, heritage policy, and Building Regulations
  • proven ability to run projects, coordinate consultants, and engage with clients and stakeholders
  • excellent design judgement, technical rigour, and clear communication skills
  • a proactive, collegiate approach and an interest in long-term growth within the practice
