What we’re looking for:

  • a confident, organised professional with a strong sense of ownership
  • someone who has worked in a creative studio, design-led environment or operations role (desirable but not essential)
  • excellent communication and people skills
  • a natural problem-solver who loves creating order and supporting others
  • someone ambitious who wants meaningful work

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who will bring calm, capability and a positive presence to the studio every day that thrives on organisation.

Who we are

KAI Interiors is an award-winning, female-led interior design studio based in Hackney. We specialise in Hospitality, Wellbeing, Workspace and Residential projects – the kinds of spaces that shape how people feel, connect, and live.
We’re known for pushing creative boundaries while staying grounded, responsive and human. Our work is design-led, but our culture is kindness-led: collaborative, warm, and full of energy.

Our London Fields studio is a place where people do their best work because they feel supported, trusted, and part of something genuinely exciting.

Why this role could be perfect for you:

  • we’re looking for a studio manager who wants to be an integral part of a thriving creative team – someone with ambition, professionalism and initiative
  • this role allows you to build and shape your career, surrounded by brilliant designers. You’ll join a studio that values balance and celebrates individuality

What you’ll enjoy:

  • inspiring, high-impact work: you’ll be at the heart of a studio creating award-winning hospitality, residential and commercial interiors
  • a culture that cares: we prioritise wellbeing through our Bright HR programme – because you can’t do great work if you’re running on empty
  • planning for your future: our Nest pension scheme helps you grow long-term security while doing work you love
  • lovely perks: access exclusive discounts to some of London’s best restaurants, bars and hotels via the CODE Hospitality app
  • a vibrant Hackney workspace: our office in London Fields is buzzing with creativity, close to green spaces, great coffee and incredible food
  • support for an active commute: on-site bike storage and a shower room mean you can start the day feeling fresh
  • holiday you can actually enjoy: up to 28 days paid leave plus bank holidays — including at least a two-week full studio break over Christmas to properly unwind

What you’ll do

This is a broad and varied role, perfect for someone who enjoys being the engine of the studio – the person who keeps everything running smoothly, calmly and efficiently.

Daily operations and admin:

  • manage diaries and support meeting arrangements
  • welcome visitors and clients to the studio
  • handle calls, correspondence and general admin
  • manage ingoing and outgoing mail
  • run occasional errands and support the team day-to-day

Studio and facilities management:

  • keep the office running beautifully: samples, supplies, utilities, building relationships
  • manage suppliers and the studio cleaner
  • handle maintenance tasks, bills, meter readings, and compliance requirements
  • ensure printers, computers and equipment are always operational
  • oversee desk-hire admin and relevant bookings

Executive and finance support:

  • manage the Studio Owner’s personal finance tasks
  • carry out light bookkeeping and finance administration
  • issue and chase invoices
  • maintain accurate financial records via Xero
  • reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports
  • manage payroll processing and ensure tax compliance
  • track company expenses
  • assist with budgeting and forecasting
