London, UK
Registered architect/project architect
at Studio DERA
Studio DERA is hiring a registered architect/project architect to join its team in London.
We design ambitious, user-focused buildings that combine high performance, rigorous detailing and close site delivery, that are breathable, low-energy and light-filled. Our work spans high-end residential, educational, spiritual and community projects, often within complex existing fabric and heritage settings.
This role suits someone who enjoys taking responsibility: managing projects, coordinating consultants, and being actively involved on-site to collaborate closely with contractors and craftspeople to deliver the highest possible quality within each project’s constraints. You’ll be involved across the full lifecycle of projects — from concept, research and detailing through to delivery — we are looking for someone to grow with and help shape Studio DERA as we deepen and extend our work, and the contribution can make a real impact. In return, you will be rewarded with opportunities for personal and professional development, and a supportive work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
Role and responsibilities:
- job-running across RIBA stages, taking ownership of coordination and delivery
- regular site involvement: contractor liaison, issue resolution, quality control, information management
- producing clear, buildable 2D packages and robust 3D models
- contributing to design development with strong material judgement and rigorous attention to detail
- working independently when needed, and collaboratively within a small team
Requirements:
- registered architect in the UK (or equivalent)
- demonstrable job-running and on-site experience
- strong 2D plus 3D drawing skills (Rhino preferred)
- interest in innovative projects, natural materials, and high-quality execution
- proactive, organised, and comfortable owning tasks through to completion
Location and salary:
- studio DERA are a creative practice who prefer studio-based working in their Dalston-based office (London)
- competitive and reflective of experience and responsibility with annual performance related bonus
We are committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from all backgrounds and communities.
