Part 2 architectural assistant
at BLD Studio
BLD Studio is hiring a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in Stamford, UK.
We are a small, ambitious architecture practice based in Stamford, looking to grow our team. Our portfolio spans one-off residential homes through to large-scale, luxury developments.
Our work applies a sense of ‘clever simplicity’ at every scale, from masterplanning to tactile details of everyday use. We believe good design lives in the balance between simplicity and precision – using material, form and light to shape spaces that are considered down to the last detail.
We’re on the lookout for a Part 2 architectural assistant who’s keen to develop their skills, contribute ideas and build strong working relationships within a close team.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
The role
This role gives the chance to contribute to high-profile schemes in a studio where responsibility is handed over gradually and support is always close by. This is an excellent opportunity for a Part 2 graduate seeking to complete their Part 3 within a supportive, hands-on office.
You will work closely with senior staff, with a particular focus on RIBA Stage 4 technical design and detailing. We will support you through your Part 3 studies, including structured time for exams, case study preparation, and mentoring from a qualified architect.
Ideally you will:
- have completed RIBA Parts 1 and 2
- thrive in a team setting, collaborating with colleagues and consultants
- bring energy and curiosity to your work, and an appetite for learning
- be actively working towards Part 3 and keen to keep developing professionally
- be a creative designer that also takes satisfaction in getting technical detail right
- be confident in communication, comfortable asking for input and acting on feedback
- be confident working in Revit, InDesign and Microsoft Office suite
What we offer:
- a warm, collaborative studio culture
- a supportive environment for Part 3 candidates, including exam support and mentoring
- direct exposure to a broad range of project types and RIBA stages
- on-site experience and the chance to work on a high-profile development
- the opportunity to grow with an expanding practice
- a competitive salary based on your experience + pension scheme
- support with ARB membership fees
Please send us:
- your CV
- a portfolio showing a mix of design thinking and technical delivery
- a covering letter telling us why BLD Studio appeals to you and what you’re hoping to find in your next role
What motivates you is just as important to us as the experience you bring.
