Mid-weight interior designer
at Hawkins\Brown
Hawkins\Brown is seeking a mid-weight interior designer to join its team in London.
We are seeking a talented mid-weight interior designer to join our interior design team and play a key role in delivering an exciting pipeline of workplace projects.
While this role sits within our wider interiors team, we are specifically looking for someone with workplace design experience who can bring sector expertise, insight and enthusiasm to a growing area of our business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who thrives on working in teams to create and develop thoughtful, innovative, high-quality workplace environments and is looking to develop their career within a collaborative, design-led practice.
About the role
You’ll work across all stages of projects, from concept through to completion, alongside architects, consultants, suppliers and clients.
Day to day, that means:
- developing innovative and engaging workplace design concepts
- collaborating with clients to understand their vision, culture and project objectives
- producing design presentations, layouts, material palettes and detailed design information
- supporting the technical development and delivery of projects as part of a multidisciplinary design team
- working closely with architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
- reviewing project information to help ensure quality, programme and budget requirements are met
- mentoring and supporting more junior team members where appropriate
- contributing to research into emerging workplace trends, innovative materials and sustainable design solutions
About you
You’ll have several years of interior design experience, ideally with some workplace projects behind you.
But more than that, you’ll care about what good design actually does for the people using the spaces you create.
We’re looking for someone who:
- has strong design, conceptual and space-planning skills
- has had experience with the understanding of workplace strategy
- works flexibly within a team, understanding the importance of being able to shift gears to follow a project cycle
- is confident working in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and/or SketchUp
- communicates ideas clearly and compellingly, visually and verbally
- has a level of experience in presenting your ideas to clients
- builds good relationships with colleagues and clients naturally
- is proactive, organised and happy to own their work
- thinks seriously about design, where it’s heading and why it matters
Benefits include (but not limited to):
- 25 days annual leave, increasing up to 28 days with long service
- duvet day
- private medical insurance
- hybrid working
- flexitime
- four per cent employer pension contribution
- discretionary profit share scheme
- subsidised gym membership
- insured on our life assurance and income protection schemes
- interest free travel loan / electric car scheme / cycle to work scheme
- discounts platform
- emergency care platform
