Job title: bookkeeper/administrative assistant

Role: working directly with DC/ES/GC and with an external accountant, helping to maintain all the DC studios’ administrative and finance routines.

David Chipperfield Architects is a leading international practice with offices in London, Berlin, Milan and Shanghai. DC Studio London, a sister company of DCA is looking for an experienced bookkeeper/administrative assistant to run the administrative and finance routines at the new offices on the Strand.

This is a part time (12 hours/week, over three days), permanent role that demands a dedicated self-starter with team spirit who shares our creative ambitions. Working hours can be tailor made to suit the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • acting as the first point of contact for all suppliers, external consultants, business partners and customers
  • checking and processing payments
  • recharging relevant costs to Berlin office
  • managing petty cash transactions
  • working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
  • preparing management accounts
  • assisting third party accountants and auditors with preparation of statutory accounts
  • reconciling control accounts
  • chasing outstanding invoices
  • setting up a computerised accounting system (Xero or similar) with the help of the external accountant
  • dealing with incoming and outgoing post
  • dealing with any other ad hoc duties that may arise

It is desirable that the candidate is AAT qualified or studying towards an AAT qualification or similar.
