Job profile

This individual requires a high level and knowledge within the commercial development sector and exceptional experience within project management. The project runner is responsible for the execution and coordination of Beaumont projects involving the ownership and delivery of project programmes, contracts. Working closely with the project director, the project runner will ensure the project runs smoothly and ensure the project is delivered to Beaumont’s high standards.

Due to expansion we are looking for an experienced project runner capable of co-ordinating complex projects at all stages of construction. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of running projects and have excellent communication skills. Strong exposure to project running and a strong technical knowledge is required with an ability to deliver to a high standard.

Key responsibilities:

  • ensure assigned projects are completed within budget and to schedule whilst meeting client needs, business objectives and design guidelines
  • implementation and management of project programmes ensuring successful completion
  • developing budgets in line with project programmes
  • communicating with the team on the project scope and associated costs
  • monitor progress and ensures quality of project
  • identify and evaluate alternative solutions to best meet programme needs when required
  • provide project director with up to date project status throughout process
  • attend site visits and progress/project meetings when requested
  • negotiate with suppliers and contractors to ensure Beaumont is obtaining the best price
  • works with the project director on any necessary planning applications
  • demonstrate an innovative approach to design and be confident in working on a number of projects at any one time
  • produce and provide architectural drawings and related services as assigned
  • prepare full package(s) of technical design, tender and construction drawings from general arrangements through to section details
  • develop schematic drawings and layouts for clients/tenants
  • assist in the issuance of drawings when required
  • review and coordinate drawing packages
  • liaise with contractors, specialists and consultants when required
  • prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for refurbishments and new builds
  • manage project filing as per the office procedures and requirements
  • ensure drawings comply with statutory regulations
  • compile and manage CDM and HSE files for relevant projects

Person specification:

  • three-five years’ experience in a construction project management related role
  • previous experience within the commercial office sector (desirable)
  • experience of design and build
  • expert understanding of site safety and project management procedures
  • excellent verbal and written English
  • exhibit strong desire to achieve results
  • self-starter and self-motivated
  • positive attitude, where no project or problem is too big or too small
  • excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
