ETH Zürich is offering an internship in rapid prototyping to join its team in Zürich, Switzerland.

The rapid architectural prototyping laboratory is the competence centre for model building at the department of architecture, ETH Zurich. We manage a large workshop with a variety of tools and techniques, ranging from the traditional (wood and casting workshops) to modern ones (CNC, digital workshop, 3D printing).
Applications are invited for an: internship – rapid architectural prototyping laboratory.
Your work will involve: helping with our daily business and assisting the students with various model building tasks, project work (workshop improvements, model building, material samples) and education (seminar weeks, elective classes, shop introductions). The preferred starting date is February 1, 2019. The internship is limited to 12 months.
You should have studied a minimum of four semesters in either…
Architecture, interior architecture, product design or furniture design. A basic knowledge of general woodworking tools (table saw, jointer, bandsaws, the operation of hand tools) and a practical background of some sort is favourable. You should have a firm background in model building and be fluid in common CAD-drawing programs and layout-tools.
