Formed in 1855, ETH Zurich was initially set up as a centre of innovation and knowledge, but is now a science and technology university in Switzerland. The university employs over 530 professors to teach 20,500 students from over 120 countries.
Its collective research includes engineering sciences, architecture, mathematics, natural and system-oriented natural sciences, as well as management and social sciences.
The university created a lightweight concrete ceiling for The DFAB House (pictured above), which has been 3D-printed from sand.
