The role
Designer IV team members are responsible for providing leadership to team members and primary day-to-day project administration and communication with client, project team and outside consultants in a manner consistent with firm-wide standards. Must possess the ability to independently manage multiple, complex projects, delegate tasks, and mentor team members with limited supervision.
This role reports to and works under the guidance of the interiors design director.
Project responsibilities:
- plan projects in conjunction with studio director and architectural project manager
- manage multiple, complex projects while maintaining quality and firm-wide standards
- be fully familiar with interior budget, scope and contract deliverables
- establish and maintain interiors project schedule, including phase deadlines, filing milestones and meetings
- assist owner in assembling interior consultant team, including FF&E procurement, lighting design and RCPs
- lead coordination of the interior consultant team
- review interior project specifications with architectural project manager
- oversee preparation and accuracy of contract documentation and specifications ensuring the project remains on schedule and within budget
- oversee and lead interior contract administration process
- oversee client approval on all interior finishes and FF&E selections
- direct the preparation of and conduct client design presentations
Additional responsibilities:
- interface with client to develop interiors program requirements
- participate in peer performance review process
- work with studio director to define interior team roles and responsibilities
Qualifications
Education: architecture or interior design school graduate. Other accreditations encouraged.
Experience: 10 or more years of experience with demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects through all phases. Portfolio must show creative design solutions on projects similar in size and scope to those of the firm.
Skills: Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe Suite, 3D Modeling, SketchUp.
