Timorous Beasties is seeking a showroom project manager to become part of its team in Berlin, Germany.

Who we are?

Timorous Beasties is a design lead manufacturing company based in Scotland, at its core producing fabrics and wallpapers for high-end hospitality, commercial and residential interiors. Established since 1990, Timorous Beasties has four branded showrooms in Glasgow and London with global representation within 23 countries. As part of our global ambition we are currently seeking a showroom/project manager, reporting to the directors in Glasgow, to represent our new branded showroom in Berlin to generate new business, cultivating brand awareness throughout Germany, in line with our European and world-wide strategies.

What are we looking for?

Strategically drive and proactively manage the growth of our business in trade and retail sales in Berlin and extending our reach and presence throughout Germany and Europe. You will connect directly with the studio in Glasgow and work collaboratively with our other sales and design staff.

Our showroom opening hours:

  • Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm
  • Monday – Wednesday, by appointment only
  • Thursday – Friday, will be open to the public
  • Saturday 10am – 6pm, will be managed by our existing sales assistant

What is required?

Project management B2B:

  • plans, coordinates and manages the project process
  • actively seek out, identify and present to other design practices at their offices
  • organise presentations within the showroom
  • represents the project or practice as the primary contact for client interaction
  • interpret client needs or specifications and develop proposals, and schedules
  • negotiate issues with appropriate parties
  • collaborates with other lead professionals to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with project expectations

Retail:

  • to facilitate direct sales within the showroom
  • deal with customers on a day to day basis to present our products and services
  • implement and maintain visual displays and merchandising to maximize store business whilst being brand-appropriate
  • maintain a clean and tidy showroom
  • have a good technical knowledge of our products
  • keep sampling up to date
  • invoicing and financial control
  • place orders with the studio
  • review enquiries and delegate appropriately
  • promote the brand in Germany through established Timorous Beasties social media platforms; Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

What do we expect?

  • minimum three years’ experience in interiors/design/retail industry
  • eligibility to work in Germany
  • fluent in German and English
  • must be flexible with hours of work and be comfortable with changing priorities
  • flexibility to work a retail schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and availability to work ad hoc for industry-related events
  • strong attention to detail
  • proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Photoshop
  • experience with Sage preferred
  • basic photography skills
  • must hold a full, clean driving license
  • strong communication skills
  • strong planning, organisational and time management skills
