Part 2 architectural assistant

Nex Architecture has an opportunity for a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its firm in London.

Nex is a London-based architecture and design studio that connects people to place through inspiring buildings and spaces. We have a vacancy for an ambitious and experienced Part 2 architectural assistant to work on high-profile arts, education, leisure and commercial projects in the UK.

The successful candidate will have RIBA Part 2 or equivalent. You should value architecture that is people centred and experience focused, have a passion for material craft.

Applicants should be:

  • confident 3D modelling in Rhino and Revit
  • skilled in either Grasshopper or Dynamo
  • proficient with Adobe CS Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • excellent visualisation and graphics skills
  • good communication skills with a confident manner
  • a good team player and capable of working independently
  • excellent organisational and time management

Some prior professional experience at Part 1 or 2 level.

Your role will involve significant responsibilities within multiple projects and include the following activities:

  • developing designs from initial stages to presentation renderings and models
  • contributing to the technical development of projects and preparation of submissions
  • assisting project architects with day-to-day running of projects
  • working directly with clients and consultants
  • undertake architectural and technical research related to ongoing projects
  • contributing to the development of our team culture
  • assisting with design coordination and managing consultants
  • making physical models and prototypes
