Adjaye Associates is looking for an architectural researcher to join its studio in London.
Adjaye Associates was established in June 2000 by founder and principal architect, Sir David Adjaye OBE. Receiving ever-increasing worldwide attention, the firm has offices in London, New York and Accra and has completed work in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
We are an award-winning and innovative architecture and design firm with work ranging from furniture, exhibitions and private houses to civic buildings and urban masterplans. The role
We are looking for a researcher who has an eagerness to evolve and wants to jump straight into our busy and energetic studio to assist our research department. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the fields of research and conducting research within the fields of architecture and visual cultures. This person must be independent and self-sufficient whilst also adapting to the guidance of the department’s requirements. The ideal candidate will also be well organised, able to work in a busy environment and to tight deadlines, and able to work cooperatively as well as supportively within the office teams. The role requires that the individual rigorously and efficiently contributes to the growing archival works of the office.
Role requirements:
- minimum two years’ research experience
- BA/MA or higher degree in research, architecture, design or relevant creative fields
- proficient ability to conduct research and excellent writing skills
- proficient in graphic design
- contribute to projects, competitions, publications and exhibitions
- archive/contribute to the archive by researching, analysing and digitising existing and new material
- excellent spatial awareness and understanding of the architectural field
- excellent computer skills with proficiency in Adobe Suite and MS Office
- creative and photographic experience
- ability to work independently and within teams and be confident in a complex environment
- highly organised, accurate and detail-oriented, and conscientious work ethic
- impeccable English language communication skills, both spoken and written (second language is an advantage)
