Experienced project architect
Holland Harvey Architects has an opportunity for an experienced project architect with at least five years’ post-qualification experience to join its growing London team.
Holland Harvey Architects is a RIBA chartered practice and design studio based in east London. Established by Richard Holland and Jonathan Harvey, our approach focuses on process and strategy, to deliver aspirational projects as solutions for complex briefs.
Our studio is based in a canal-side warehouse in east London, where we form part of a wider creative community of local designers. As a small team we are driven, friendly, focused and agile; we forge personal relationships to understand our clients’ needs and ensure our designs exceed expectations.
Every project is unique, as is our approach. We spend time exploring, making and testing until we distill an idea to its simplest, most elegant form.

We are looking for a talented, motivated and creative, for an experienced project architect to join our fantastic team!
We will:
- offer you the opportunity to guide the conceptual and detailed design of projects in exciting central London locations
- provide you with the resources to manage and run a team that deals with a range of projects on challenging timescales with multiple clients
- facilitate the development of your career as part of a growing design studio

You will:
- develop and manage the conceptual and detailed design of our projects
- lead and manage a team to deliver multiple fast moving projects effectively
- have a keen interest in the development and education of colleagues to foster mentoring within a team structure
- assist in the management of budgets and costs to ensure projects are delivered on time
- manage and produce where needed drawings and 3D visualisations to capture and communicate the design intent
- run regular design workshops with clients
- undertake and manage the production of information for tender purposes and play an active role in negotiations with contractors
- source and specify furniture and finishes
- work alongside suppliers, fabricators and manufacturers to procure specialist items
- work closely with other consultants to coordinate pre-construction information
Candidates should have five year’s experience in retail and or residential or hotels, must be confident, independent and share our passion for delivering original projects.
Essential skills of a successful candidate include:
- exceptional client facing skills including communication both verbally, graphically and written
- highly organised, punctual and professional to a level that you would associate a client facing role
- a keen design sensibility and the confidence to make decisions quickly and effectively
Proficiency in Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is required. SketchUp, Rhino and V-Ray skills are an advantage.
