About the role
The senior architect manages UK/international projects in the commercial mixed-use sector through all aspects of design and development, leveraging their own and others’ design expertise to create world-class projects.
Key responsibilities
Design expertise:
- delivers high-quality design work, engaging others with their creative and innovative thinking
Project management:
- demonstrates a detailed understanding of the design process and project brief, coordinating the preparation of the project deliverables and other activities related to the project development
- takes responsibility for quality control and supervision of project deliverables
- coordinates and integrates the work of external contractors, suppliers and professionals
Team management:
- role models Benoy’s values and contributes towards a collaborative environment in which innovation is encouraged and best practice shared
- builds a network across the business and seeks leadership opportunities by directing and supporting junior team members
Client relationships:
- develops effective relationships with clients and consultants
- supports senior colleagues with client presentation, making a positive contribution towards project meetings and client engagements
Budget control:
- takes responsibility for aspects of the project budget, and liaises with stakeholders to ensure delivery
- seeks to develop a working understanding of cost control, fee-charging and project finance, and considers how project fees are maximised without threat to client relationship and repeat work
About you
Skills and experience required:
- presents as a talented designer, with a portfolio that showcases great creativity and innovative thinking
- has experience of successfully delivering large scale projects through all work stages, within the UK/internationally
- demonstrates strong organisational and supervisory skills, with a proven ability to manage projects and people to deliver great results
- a strong communicator, able to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders
- possesses proficiency with computer applications commonly used within the individual’s discipline – Revit is essential
- degree qualified in related design field or equivalent certification or skill level is essential; professional registration is preferred
