There is an opportunity for a mid-weight designer to join a busy design studio in Leicester, UK.

Your role

As a mid-weight designer, you will be a frontline problem-solver and decision maker, providing leadership on small to medium-sized projects. Whilst you will be primarily working within the spatial communications department, all of our projects are a blend of spatial, visual and digital experiences and you will be making key decisions to deliver this holistically for our clients.

As a middleweight designer your primary role will be to:

  • clearly understand the entire project process, from brief to installation
  • develop design solutions/schemes/concepts in line with project demands, requirements and budget
  • demonstrate knowledge and passion about your projects and industry
  • fulfil clients’ requests and expectations, maintaining good lines of communication
  • manage your own time across multiple projects and assist in ensuring project tasks are prioritised within a team
  • monitor and respond to project resources, ensuring project deadlines and budget are met
  • demonstrate enthusiasm and energy, setting a positive example for other team members around you
  • have a sound knowledge of production techniques
  • collaborate effectively with other departments, and accept constructive criticism
  • maintain awareness of current trends and changes to the industry
  • think strategically and commercially about your role in the wider organisation

Person specification:

  • able to produce visual communication documents
  • become a key player in overall message, tone and voice of a project
  • have a solid understanding of print/production techniques and any related cost implications
  • be a frontline problem-solver and decision maker
  • have a comprehensive knowledge of graphic layouts, fundamental rules and typography, for both print and digital usage
  • can communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
    everything you produce must have an attention to detail and consider the wider project and scheme
  • a strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • continually challenge the way we present our ideas and concepts company wide
