About the role

The German-speaking senior architect is responsible for designing, delivering and innovating the architectural elements of our product. You will be working underneath the architectural director in leading the architectural activities of The Collective in Germany; managing the regional stakeholders and growing the international team to deliver buildings for an unprecedented member experience. You will take a leading role in the provision of architectural support and expertise to the investment team for the purposes land acquisition that must bring together commercial, design, construction and regulatory expertise. You will oversee design work undertaken by external architects to ensure their proposals meet brand standards and project vision.

A continuous drive for innovation and design excellence must be at the core of everything you do, inspiring your team members in the process and pushing the limits of expectations to get the best product possible.

Key responsibilities:

  • take the lead in the execution of the architectural team’s design and design management responsibilities throughout the schematic design, detailed design and construction phases of projects across Germany
  • work closely with the regional development team to manage external consultants in the design and delivery of our buildings
  • work closely with the regional in-house design team to produce interior design packages
  • support the investment team in the acquisition of new development sites through the production of architectural feasibility studies
  • stay abreast of industry developments and competitors’ movements to ensure our architectural product is always innovative and ahead of the competition
  • liaise regularly with other internal teams and pillars to ensure the product is optimised, aligned with their workstreams and takes into account ongoing feedback
  • support the architectural director in the line management of more junior members of the regional architectural team, continually inspiring and mentoring them, ensuring they are working efficiently, performing at the highest level and are highly motivated

About you

We need someone who can multi-task, is happy to take control, be accountable and who wants to work in an exciting and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be excited to learn and grow within a disruptive market.

You will be a fluent German and English speaker, an expert communicator and have a strong creative drive. You will have at least five years’ experience of working on hospitality and/or residential projects in Germany. We are looking for creative innovators who want to work on our arguably most exciting portfolio of projects, working autonomously and having the flexibility to travel.
