Junior interior designer
at Create Interior Design

Create Interior Design is looking for a junior interior designer to join its London Studio.

At Create we are focused on delivering the best solutions for our clients and designing creative, functional and happy spaces.

The studio works on all types of building structures and the scale of projects can vary from developer-led residential schemes to larger commercial office projects. Our key focus and level of expertise is in the London commercial interior fit out market.

Applicants must be degree qualified (related) and have at least two years’ experience working, on a high standard of commercial interior architectural projects from concept to completion.

Full-time contract with the option for permanent employment for the right candidate. Part-time applicants will be considered. Salary based on candidate experience.

Your responsibilities:

  • assisting the design directors with design concepts proposals for multiple projects
  • AutoCAD Space planning and drawing work
  • building 3D models in SketchUp and generating 3D views
  • using Adobe Photoshop to enhance 3D visuals
  • managing the sample ordering process
  • assist with the specification of furniture and FF&E items for projects
  • preparing furniture, FF&E and other schedules in Microsoft Excel
  • input to and prepare design presentation’s using Adobe InDesign
  • assist with the development of material palettes
  • arrange and manage all finished project photoshoots

Your key skills and experience:

  • bachelor/master’s degree in interior design or architecture
  • proficient in working with the following software packages – AutoCAD LT, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Office 365
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; must be able to manage time efficiently and work to tight deadlines
  • methodical and logical approach to tasks set
  • junior level experience working for an interior design studio on commercial interior design projects
  • knowledge and understanding of commercial sector suppliers, manufactures and products including furniture manufacturers
  • personable, diligent and collaborative nature
  • reliable and detail-oriented with a high level of initiative and self-motivation
  • organised, self-starter who can work independently, capable of working on multiple projects at various stages of development
  • ability to work well as part of a team

Desirable attributes, interests and skills:

  • excellent hand-drawing skills
  • residential or hotel experience
