Shanade McAllister-Fisher Design is looking for an immediately available experienced freelance interior designer to join the studio in West London.

The ideal person will have a minimum of three years’ experience in residential design.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• working closely alongside the senior designer to develop initial ideas and acquire key information about potential projects, discuss requirements in detail with clients and set project schedules
• responsible for multiple projects from design through to installation and styling
• create and deliver concepts and presentations
• produce detailed interior layouts and elevations
• deliver neat, clear and accurate design information and schedules
• create engaging sample boards in preparation for client presentations
• source and specify FF&E in keeping with the clients brief and SMF style
• set and track the designs according to set budgets
• supervise work at the design stage and on site
• make and implement design decisions where appropriate
• assist in client sign-off of all design drawings and documents
• attend on site reviews
• manage and coordinate onsite installs and dressing ready for client handover
• establish and maintain excellent client and supplier relationships
• liaises effectively with clients and other team members
• keep team informed of design progress
• ensures team maintains realistic project timelines
• ensures changes are communicated within the team
• introduces new ways of working, above and beyond the brief

Essential skills:

• three years’ professional experience as a residential interior designer
• BA in interior design (or relevant qualification)
• highly creative with strong attention to detail
• excellent working knowledge of Vectorworks and or AutoCAD, Adobe packages, Microsoft office and sketch up
• works well under pressure
• highly organised with excellent time management skills
• self-motivated and positive personality
• takes ownership of projects and workload
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• can work independently or as part of a team
• immediately available
