New London Architecture is seeking a social media and content coordinator to join its team in London
Reports to: content manager
Salary: £23,000-£26,000 depending on experience, plus bonus
New London Architecture (NLA) is London’s independent centre for debate, discussion and information about the future shape of the capital. Our busy year-round programme of events, exhibitions, publications and research addresses the key issues affecting the city’s built environment and drives the debate about its future. We provide a platform for our broad network of professionals, politicians and the public to meet, share knowledge and shape a better city. We’re London’s greatest advocates, sharing our passion and knowledge about the capital. Our fast-growing membership of over 500 organisations spans both the public and private sector, including architects and designers, developers, engineers, planners, agents, public sector bodies and product manufacturers. We are based in The Building Centre, WC1, where our giant interactive model of central London is free to visit six days a week.
The role
NLA is looking for a social media and content coordinator to provide a critical level of support to the marketing and communications team across a wide range of tasks in delivering the busy programme of online, print and social media resources. This role will have a primary focus on the production, collation and editing of content as well as being a brand guardian for all assets.
You will be involved in working closely with multiple teams across the business; drafting of marketing content for online and printed communications and communicating progress internally in a timely and concise way.
Tasks include:
- source, produce and plan engaging content to ensure all areas of NLA content such as news, blog and social media channels are up to date, relevant and interesting using the brand’s tone of voice
- support content manager with day-to-day initiatives, campaigns and forward planning
- work closely with key stakeholders from across the business to support membership and campaign launches as well as events, publications and supplying support plans/schedules for social activity
- write engaging, impactful SEO friendly content across all formats to improve the companies organic reach
- distribute content across multiple touchpoints including social media channels and email
- copywriting, including but not limited to social media posts, blog articles, event descriptions and press releases
- be a brand guardian for the creative aesthetic of all social channels
- contribute to team brainstorms and idea generation for content, brand initiatives and campaigns
- develop and plan a strategy for Instagram Stories around but not limited to, in-house events, membership, publications and polls
- manage for member-generated content for LREF and MIPIM accounts ensuring posts fit with our tone of voice and brand
- identify collaborations with industry influencers
- monitor and report on performance on social media channels and accounts
- follow and identify trends that are relevant to the built environment industry
- stay up to date with the latest developments from social media platforms and report back learnings to the team
- maintain and update marketing documentation and databases
What we are looking for
You will be a self-starter with an interest in the key issues influencing London’s development and investment industries, as well as in London and its built environment more generally. You will share our team’s core values by always being informed, rigorous, collaborative and responsive in everything you do.
Required experience and skills:
- strong copywriting skills, proofreading and a keen eye for detail
- proven experience of working on social media campaigns from conception to finish
- experience using Photoshop/InDesign
- good knowledge base using Mailchimp
- strong visual and communication skills.

- excellent written and spoken English
- social media channel management and content creation
- an understanding of how to apply SEO best practices

Many of NLA’s events are hosted in the early mornings or into the evenings, so the ability to be flexible around early starts and late finishes is essential.
Holiday: 25 days (including Christmas closure) plus bank holidays
Your normal working week is 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
