SALT is hiring a senior account manager to join its team in London.
SALT is an independent communications studio telling the stories of great design.
We work with architects, design studios and product designers internationally who believe in and practice sustainable design, offer progressive studio environments, and value people as much as place.
We require a senior account manager to join our Hoxton studio. The salary range for this position is £35,000– £45,000 annually, rewarded to an individual who will commit to and aid the growth of our business.
The senior account manager is a key client and industry facing role. You must be warm, personable, passionate about the SALT client list, ready to positively represent the business and our clients at events and within the industry.
This is a middle leadership position that will be in part responsible for client relationships and retention, as well managing accounts and team members. It is vital that you set and uphold a high standard of service and encourage others to do the same, to maintain SALT’s growing reputation in the architecture and design industries. This role is primed for growth, supporting the senior leadership team as well as managing coordinators in order to keep clients well serviced and achieving great results.

Your main daily activities:
- managing client accounts, attending regular meetings/calls and regularly updating clients on all activities
- reporting to the Founding Director monthly on account progress and team performance
- actively meeting new journalists and securing long-lead and tier-1 print coverage on campaigns
- actively networking to grow SALT brand and collaborator list
- supporting new business calls with Senior leadership
- writing press releases, awards entries, thought leadership content for a variety of clients
- supporting and teaching coordinators to execute on aspects of accounts
- managing client relationships to ensure client retention and foster long lasting relationships
- managing press strategy for one-off & retainer campaigns, approving and managing media matrix grids
- working collaboratively with press, clients, photographers and colleagues
- positively contributing to fresh, agile and kind studio culture
You need:
- minimum four years of PR agency experience working in the architecture, design or built environment industries
- well established and proven media contacts within the architecture, interiors and product industries
- the right to work and live in the UK– Bachelor’s degree in media, communications, marketing or related field
- a creative eye and deep understanding of the design media landscape
- a capable researcher, able to find and secure new opportunities for coverage and creative activations
- to be a genuine, warm and energetic person with excellent interpersonal skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English
- able to adapt tone of voice to different client content types
- able to work to deadlines, and proactively set and manage workflows across multiple accounts
- exceptional organisation and project management skills, able to bring initiative and drive projects forward proactively
- proficient in Google Suite, Canva, MailChimp and StreamTime
Helpful details:
- the role reports to the Founding Director
- this is a London-based position based in our Hoxton studio
- national and international travel is required depending on client events, site tours, design festivals and launches
- our studio hours at 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am – 1pm on Fridays
- we offer 28 days annual leave including bank holidays, with the option to take unpaid leave over the Christmas break
