Montalba Architects is seeking a retail project manager to join its team in Santa Monica, USA.
Montalba Architects is a design-focused and high-service architectural practice based in Santa Monica, California with a satellite office in Lausanne, Switzerland. We work with a wide range of local and international clients and our body of work consists of private residences, boutique retail stores, hospitality and commercial projects.
Our LA office is centred within the Bergamot Station Art campus in Santa Monica; amongst art galleries and the newly opened Metro Expo line station. We have a studio-like atmosphere where individuals can focus, inspire and learn from each other. We are seeking individuals that are excited for challenges and dedicated to crafting great projects together. General requirements:
- completion of BArch or MArch
- minimum of three-five years of relevant work experience
- built examples of prior retail design and construction experience
- well organised and attentive, strong problem-solving skills
- great verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
- enthusiasm for design aesthetics, quality of construction and professionalism
Project requirements:
- manage project schedule, deliverables and all related coordination
- act as the primary point of contact with client project management team, consultants and general contractor
- must understand inherent characteristics of retail design including merchandising strategies, customer experience, and interpreting brand identity
- ability to distinguish differences between varying retail sub-types and distinct requirements of each
- familiarity with materials and varying levels of craftsmanship and ability to work with fabricators for custom design components
- research materials/systems/code and implement to drawings
- assemble graphic presentations (diagrams, sketches, drawings and 3D views)
- oversee the production of high-quality construction documents by internal team and consultants
