Mid-weight interior designer
at Milc Property Stylists

Milc Property Stylist is seeking a mid-weight interior designer to join its office in London.

We are a rapidly growing interior design, show home and furniture rental company searching for an experienced mid-weight interior designer to join our London based team. We expect this successful individual to lead by example in our existing design team, to be highly inspirational, massively efficient, personable and who has a dedicated passion for interior design, styling, project management and a specific eye for high-end interior specification detail. They must have a complete ‘can do’ attitude to assist in growing a team and at the same time, not be afraid of getting their hands dirty.

Requirements

The chosen candidate will be responsible for assisting in the growth and drive of our design department. This is a fantastic opportunity for this hardworking individual to make their design stamp on the department, and to assist in building a design team that will compete against the best design houses in London/the industry.

You will lead your own projects, designing and delivering interior schemes from inception through to installation. You must also be highly organised and have exceptional attention to detail.

You will have to be a confident team player as well as the ability to inspire others, with excellent communication skills for both internal and client-related matters. We are looking for new ideas, new ways of presenting, new looks and feels and most importantly – the creating of new inspirations for the interiors market to follow.

Experience and skills (preferable):

  • architectural, interior design and styling experience
  • project management experience
  • design presentation experience to HNWI clients and developers
  • to be proficient at CAD and/or VectorWorks or equivalent
  • EstiMac/EstiPC experience (preferable)
  • proficient at working with Excel, InDesign and Photoshop
  • strong supplier relationships
  • experience with sub-contractors and associated contracts
  • administration and organisational skills
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • outstanding attention to detail
  • business development skills

Duties and detail:

  • lead by complete example with the Milc design team
  • to work directly with the design director and senior interior designers to drive the company forward
  • liaise with clients and maintain relationships moving forward
  • liaise with suppliers and maintain relationships moving forward
  • liaise with internal business development team members and maintain relationships moving forward
  • produce design concepts, proposals, mood boards and estimates when required and follow through the design process to fruition
  • attend site visits
  • source and order products efficiently and within company processes
  • source new suppliers and contractors assisting with associated contracts
  • project management.
  • lead installation team on site effectively and efficiently, whilst still building relationships with MILC team members
  • style and dress projects to a detailed show home standard
  • sort and pick accessories in the warehouse whenever required, respecting the warehouse processes
  • project administration in line with MILC office processes
  • As the company expands, you may be asked to perform different tasks for the directors of Milc as necessitated by your changing role within the company.

  • internal: colleagues within the design and operations teams, general manager, warehouse manager, the directors of the company and the business development team of David Phillips
