Document controller – part-time, fixed-term, contract, maternity cover

This is a great opportunity for a bright and capable document controller to play a vital role in delivering administrative and project support across our fast-paced, professional and creative architecture practice.
We are looking for a flexible and proactive document controller with great attention to detail, enthusiasm, initiative and the ability to manage a varied workload. The position will be part-time three days per week (22.5 hours, ideally working Wednesday to Friday) for a minimum nine-month period to start in early March 2020. You will be a confident multi-tasker with a background in an architectural, design or construction environment. Please note that this role is purely administrative and does not include any architectural work.
Project administration and support including:
- document control and drawing upload in compliance with our protocols
- setting up and maintaining electronic and physical filing for all projects
- maintaining up to date project information and records
- proofreading, editing and formatting documents and reports
- archiving and maintaining archive database
- formal submission and uploading of design information to online portals for planning and building control applications and application payments
- drafting fee letters, project programmes and other project administration
- general admin duties including reception cover
- developing systems and protocols to respond to changing needs and improve our processes
- liaison with clients and sub-consultants
You will have:
- at least two years’ relevant experience
- excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- a confident and cheerful can-do attitude with bags of common sense
- a methodical approach to work and an eye for detail
- a resourceful nature and efficient way of working
- strong Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- experience using 4Projects, conject, Asite Solutions or other document management portals would be advantageous
- IT expertise or experience in IT support would be considered advantageous
